{Easy Peasy} Pizza Dough Recipe

on April 7, 2012

I’ll get you a picture next time I make my dough, okay!

So here’s the easy peasy pizza dough recipe I use.

Ingredients:

♥2.75 cups lukewarm water

♥1.5 Tablespoons granulated active yeast

♥1.5 Tablespoons kosher salt

♥1 Tablespoon sugar  OR 2 tablespoons honey

♥¼ cup olive oil

♥6.5 cups unbleached organic all purpose flour

This will make about 3-5 pizzas depending on how thick and large you shape your pizzas.

So, here is the {easy peasy} part that I love!  Take all your ingredients EXCEPT for the flour.  Mix them in a big bowl (I use my humongo stock pot) and let it sit until its all foamy and creamy!  (You shouldn’t use metal with yeast!)

After that happens, use a wooden spoon and add the flour.  Mix until it’s blended together.  No need to knead!  Let it sit for about 2 hours, punch down and wait about 1/2 hour and then you’re good to go!  Shape with your fingers/hands into a round pizza shape! (I take a blob, place it on parchment paper with a little flour and smooth out the blob into a pizza shape creation of my choosing).

Then add your sauce, cheese and seasonings/toppings.

Bake at 450° for about 10-12 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.  Note ~ you may want to use the method below (Pizzeria Style Pizza).

I like to bake on a baking stone with parchment paper.

If you want Pizzeria style Pizza, this method is amazing!  We’ve done it for the past two weeks now and LOVE the outcome.  And it’s pretty {easy peasy} too!

This sounds great! Two questions . . . 1) How long do you cook it (and at what temp)? And, 2) How much does it make and can it be frozen? That ended up being four questions. :-)

    • That would help, huh! I added it to the recipe. Bake at 450 degrees until bubbly, about 10-12 minutes. Yes, you can freeze the dough and it makes about 3-5 pizzas depending on size and thickness!
