Is God’s Will MY Will?

on December 28, 2012

As I am preparing to teach at my home fellowship regarding the topic of “Peter ~ Making God’s Will His Will”, it really has grabbed my attention!

How does one make God’s Will, their own will?  First, there has to be a humbling of one’s self to realize that someone else’s way is better than your own.  It also take a trust in that other party that perhaps they may know more than I, Me, My!  In addition, I believe it takes a

Words

repetition of seeing the “doing” of this practice of humbleness and trust come together and kiss which gives the big hug of “experience” that they ~the other person, has your back in a sense and that by doing their way rather than my own, actually yields some benefit and results!!

So, by reading God’s Word and seeing what HE says in a situation is the necessary action.  Then, I submit myself to His Word and take a little step out, telling God, that even though I may not fully understand, I want to show Him that I trust His decisions on the matter.  Then it’s God’s turn.  He is bound to His Word to come through with the great benefit, the deliverance, the victory.  Then, REPEAT the PROCESS!!  As I do this, it becomes second nature that HIS WILL is now MY WILL, rather than me having my own independent will that may or may not line up with His!  And now the really sweet part!  As this process happens, I will start to listen to the still small voice of my Heavenly Father giving me detailed direction in which way to go!!  How could life be lived any great than this?

I Kings 19:11-12

11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:

12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

And you know, to really think about it, this is what Christian Self-Government is all about!  This is what will turn out nation “right side up”, like in the book of Acts!

What area are you going to make your own this week?

Blessings~

Thanks Heidi, It’s nice to be reminded that although big flashy things happen before you, the true communication given from God directly to me is the still small voice. And although I like the big show of things, when looking for direction, I should be listening for a God’s voice rather than a “sign.”
    Loves.
